CATHY CASSIDY, M.A., M.S., LCPC
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor | Clinical & Forensic Therapy
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) specializing in clinical and forensic therapy, with more than 20 years of experience supporting adults through life’s challenges. I hold dual master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology and Forensic Psychology, bringing both advanced training and extensive experience to my work.
Trauma and Sexual Abuse
I specialize in helping adults and adolescents with a variety of mental health and trauma-related concerns. This includes anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); bipolar disorder; depression, including major depressive disorder and postpartum depression with or without psychosis; and sexual trauma, including childhood sexual abuse and adult sexual trauma. My approach focuses on uncovering the root causes of emotional and behavioral patterns, rather than just managing symptoms, creating space for healing, growth, and lasting transformation.
Sexual Concerns and Sexual Dysfunction
I also work with individuals and couples navigating sexual concerns, including intimacy issues, pornography use, and sexual dysfunction. Support is available for partners and spouses, and I strive to provide a safe and understanding environment to address these sensitive issues openly and effectively.
Forensic Experience
My forensic experience includes providing treatment, conducting evaluations, and offering court testimony in county jails, state prisons, and private practice. I also offer mental health educational briefings and perform court-ordered sex offender evaluations and treatment. This work has strengthened my ability to navigate the intersection of psychology, behavior, and the legal system with professionalism and care.
In addition, I have worked in psychiatric inpatient hospitals, emergency rooms, and as a contracted therapist for local schools and the Army National Guard. These experiences give me a broad perspective on how different environments influence mental health and behavior.
Above all, I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to help you move toward genuine healing, personal growth, and long-term emotional well-being.
